Track Name: Kerouac's Teeth
KEROUAC'S TEETH
On the road like Kerouac, packed in a van full of Bukowski's
In the desert in November, there's so much out there I'd like to see
But the silence in the canyon, feels just fine with electricity
And in this harsh environment well, even the devil gets his sympathies

So I dig on down into the dirt,
Past the surface, and the hurt, just to see what we've been building on
Past the love regret and fire, childish dreams and downward spirals
Then all I found was, were these songs
Just old songs, they're never quite right but they're never quite wrong
Old songs, just old songs
They might lead you astray or they might just lead you home

And the city lights and stars just fight, so in the dark is where I'd rather be
Far away from all the left and the right wing televised tragedy
And it's easy not to pick a side, when it's just all a compromise to me
But ain't it all just a fucking lie, when you come to find they put a price on free

We’re throwing grenades in small spaces just to save face for an argument
But it's all just a brass polish on a sinking ship the point has missed my friends
And I've been holding my breath for longer than I'd like to state
So I exhale a bitter smoke of just about well everything.

So I dig on down into the dirt,
Past the surface and the hurt, just to see what we've been building on
Past the love regret and fire, childish dreams and downward spirals
Then all I found was, were these songs
Just old songs, they're never quite right but they're never quite wrong
Old songs, just old songs
They might lead you astray or they might just lead you home
All these old songs
Track Name: Escape Plan
ESCAPE PLAN
Executing an escape, plans set in motion
I’m gonna run out this place, as if a tidal wave was about to crash on me
So stupid mistakes, so easy to make
You just push when you pull, get comfortable hiding inside that poison bottle
Just get over it, when your eyes roll back inside your head
Forget the hesitation, some time for contemplation
Doesn’t matter when your dead

So no, we’re just gonna go
We don’t need that poison that you shove down their throats
No, we’re just gonna go
We’re just gonna getaway from here to get somewhere
Oh no

One more imperial, fleeting emotions
You just force it against your will, swallow down that pill of blind devotion
This place has seen the change, in just about everything
From the truth to the lies that you tell yourself, to the folding hand that dealers dealt
You just can’t win this game
Watch it all slip away
Watch the colors turn from black to grey
Running out of possibilities in the tragic state of anything
Leftover from what they didn’t take

So no, we’re just gonna go
We don’t need that poison that they shove down their throats
No, we’re just gonna go
We’re just gonna getaway from here to get somewhere
Oh no
Track Name: This One's For Johnny
THIS ONE'S FOR JOHNNY
Lets all dance, lets all drink
Throw our hands up and we'll sing
Together one time, before we go
Let's make these more than songs
Let's make this more than another show

For all the broken hearts
For all the lost souls
For all the stress and time, spent out on the road
The forty hour work week it seems, to grab us by the throats

So take a look around
We are all the same
Problems and pain
We are all the same

Let it bleed or leave it be
like everything
Just hold on long enough, to feel some honesty
Find the one reason, to not let go
Grit them teeth get those scars, hold your head up in those bars
But we'll come and go again, there's always broken hearts
Just find one reason, to not let go

So take a look around
We are all the same
Problems and pain

You're waking up, it's coming down
Gotta go now, I'll see you round
Been gone so long, next town is home
Wasting away, it's the way it goes

It's the way it goes, the way it goes.
Track Name: Fuck You
FUCK YOU
They told me to stop my drinking
They told me no more women or booze
They told me no more late nights of cocaine
Well I had to tell them fuck you

And I’ve had my share of hard times and hand cuffs
Drunk tanks, court dates and county blues
And I’ve started more bar fights than I’ve finished
But they all started with a fuck you

Well I don’t give a god damn if this life leads us to hell
I don’t give a shit if you don’t like what we do
I got my friends and good times and that California sunshine
You can have the rest plus fuck you

And I fall out of love just as quick as I fall in
My broken heart is covered in tattoos
And the girls think I’m cute on the weekends
But when Monday comes around and they tell me fuck you

And our tour van is just a rolling felony
Percocets, Oxys, and mushrooms
But when we get pulled over by the god damn police
We say well officer fuck you

Well I don’t give a god damn if this life leads us to hell
I don’t give a shit if you don’t like what we do
I got my friends and good times and that California sunshine
You can have the rest plus fuck you
Track Name: Battle Lines
I’m having trouble with my breathing
Can’t seem to get air in these lungs
Waiting for reasons, they never come
This place is so unforgiving, unrelenting, reaction

Battle lines, loss of patience
Changing of the tide, eyes cold and vacant
BATTLE LINES
White lines over, pointless conversation
This razor moves slow and adjacent

This heart wants to stop it’s beatings
Exposed bruised and bleeding
Waiting for nothing, nothing ever comes
I’m having trouble with my breathing
Can’t seem to get air in these lungs, unrelenting reaction

Battle lines, loss of patience
Changing of the tide, eyes cold and naked
White lines over, pointless conversation
This razor moves slow and adjacent

Battle lines, loss of patience
Changing of the tide, eyes cold and naked
White lines over, pointless conversation
This razor moves slow and adjacent
Track Name: Rosebud
ROSEBUD
Build it up and take it to the streets
Because if it can’t be seen what does it mean
If it can’t stand upright alone
Watch it fall down, hang your head back home
But chances are that someone gives a damn
And that will validate your sweat; every songs for them
But by all means keep this from your head
Because things you say become what you said

And don’t forget why you came to play
Take the first slot and don’t get paid
But if there’s one thing with which you should walk away
Is what will set you apart - drive far away and play

Then stick around and meet the other bands
Because here’s the situation as it stands
They will need a place to stay on tour
So they will give you drink and let you sleep on their floor
And at some shows they will be the crowd
So when they are finished sing your praise out loud

And in the end you will have a friend
Because you’ve sweat it out just like them
So when times get tough and you need a place to stay
Just get back in the van and drive far away and play

There we were standing around
We had not much to say; our eyes were on the ground
We were broke and we had our own problems
But our choices were to drive or hit rock bottom
Reluctantly we climbed back in the van
No one said a word as we left San Fran
The tire hum made our burdens slip away
And we were so free because we were far away
Track Name: Lead Foot
LEAD FOOT
I put my foot on the gas, like a pin to the page
Sorting out all the facts to escape from this place, I need a reason to try
We all shake, so violently
Separated from the sea, getting lost in this bottle tonight
Tonight, tonight

Keep your foot of the brakes, keep your fears to yourself
Because they’re all on the take, and they’re pedaling hell
How’d we end up here
Well god speed, through these bloody seas
I’m holding the line, my life in black and white whats becoming of me

I got a ticket on an out bound train
And I don’t know if I’ll see you again, well
What I’m trying to say, is it’s just not the same here
This place has changed and so have I
So I’ll hold on to memories of me and you
Let’s save goodbyes for another time, time

As we accelerate, through these dire straits
Money ain’t for nothing, hearts were meant to be broken, at least the streets are for free
And we celebrate, we hit the lottery
Got some beers that are cold, a never ending road, a permanent vacation

I got a ticket for an out bound train
And I don’t know if I’ll see you again, well
What I’m trying to say, is it’s just not the same here
This place has changed and so have I
So I’ll hold on to memories of me and you
Let’s save goodbyes for another time, time

I’m leaving town on an out bound train and I don’t know if I’ll see you again
What I’m trying to say, is it’s just not the same here
This place has changed and so have I
So I’ll hold on to memories of me and you
Let’s save goodbyes for another time, time
For another time
Track Name: Hang On
HANG ON
I guess I never thought I’d end up this way
Living in the big city with a hundred and one fucking bills to pay
The days keep coming and the nights they do follow
We ease the ride with the colorful pills that we swallow

Hang on tight tonight
One of these days we’re bound to get it right

We play the game because we want to win the prize
It all seems fun and fair until something inside of us dies
We look around but it’s not what we expected to see
Luck is struck for everyone baby but you and me

Hang on tight tonight
Because one of these days we’re bound to get it right
Track Name: Shootin The Moon
SHOOTIN THE MOON
And I’m moving everyday, close to a shallow grave
There’s no souls in this place because they’ve all made their escape
With a cup of blood on ice and a coffin nail in tow
I’m ready to pay that price to that old man down below
And I’m moving down and hitting the road
Just shooting holes in the moon
With an old black car and gun in my hand running out of room
And I know no other way, so this close I stay
I move on down into the fire, until I hear him say
I let go

And I broke her poor heart for reasons no one knows
But I meant every word I said like a screaming crow
The whiskey on my breath lets her know this is good bye
And by the looks of me right now I hope she knows why
And I’m kicking up dust out of habitjust to see which way she went
I got dirt in my eyes when all I gotta do is watch my step
And I know no other way, so this course I stay
I move on down into the fire, until I hear him say
I let go

And I’m moving everyday, close to a shallow grave
There’s no souls in this place because they’ve all made their escape
With a cup of blood on ice and a coffin nail in tow
I’m ready to pay that price to that old man down below
And I let go
Well I let go
I let go
Track Name: No High Road
NO HIGH ROAD
I think we’re on the brink of a complete break down, annihilation
Whoa god it’s such a mess but I know, but I know
So hard to turn all of these good times away
So we shift, and we take, and we build then we break this life’s so hard to take
Can’t stand the looks of the faces, waiting for nothing complacent
I’ll be as calm as a bomb, go off and get gone, follow the sun, leaving only the tracers

So what would you have me do from here
Stay and waste or let me go
By now you know there is no changing
No salvation, there is no hope

It's been a long day, living life the wrong way, well what you want me to say
Fall down to come up, where enough is too much, and there’s always hell to pay
And we all get tired of moving back from the flames
Get quick, or die fast, move on and move past
Slowly fade away
So what would you have me do from here
Stay and waste or let me go
By now you know, there is no changing
There’s no salvation, there is no hope

So what would you have me do from here
By now you know, there is no changing
No salvation, there is no hope
Stay and waste or let me go
By now you know, there is no changing
No salvation, there is no hope
Track Name: 101
101
And we packed up our bags in the middle of the day
Cracked my first smile in a long time and I watched that motel fade
101 South bound to that 156 try and build a stable life on the fault line of San Andreas
She held back her tears the best a mother can
And I tried to keep my head up and be a family man
With no direction or a place to call a home
Well that 101 can turn into an endless road

And we drove, together through the night
And we’d never know, how far we’d have to drive
Just looking out dirty windows, just watching that world go by
My god how we’d drive

The road grew weary in the Fall of ‘96
So I left my mom and that old Ford and tried to be a kid
I went out on my own tried to find a better way
But you can fight those good intentions but you can’t make em stay
And a man tried to kill me one hot August night
That man wasn’t quick enough and he fell on his own knife
Now the police are on my trail with a trial date in mind
So I got back in that old Ford and I took myself a drive

And I drove on through the night
And I’d never know, how far I’d have to drive
Just looking out dirty windows, just watching that world go by
My god how I’d drive

So I got on up, out that little town
I got myself a little wife and I tried to settle down
I got a job in the city, hell even wore myself a tie
Worked my fingers to the bone every day, tried to come home every night
Man its hard to sleep when the 101 do call
And one day I came home to, well nothing at all
Just a note that read, you gotta do what inside
So I got back in that old Ford and I took myself a drive

And I drove on through the night
And I never know, how far I’d have to drive
Just looking out dirty windows, just watching that world go by
My god how I’d drive
Track Name: Rattle Snake
RATTLE SNAKE
And the animals are loose on the road where bottles don’t tip so slow
Horizons covered in diamonds again
Smoke ridden old vagabonds
Conversate about their loose ends

My friend this is a curtain call
And I’m not sure we can take ‘em all
But god knows there’s enough of us to fight
So hold me close don’t close your eyes
Now we watch the hold world die, one thousand times

Inside these tattered lines

Smash your teeth against your lips
Inside insights intelligence, place is so strange, yet easy to reside
Blisters on apocalypse, irrelevantirrelevance , holding so much, deep inside
Rideuntil the night still slips and the next day break grips, broke that will shatter time
Hope your happy now you’re gone, know they got a smile on, soft love
Way out there through tattered lines
Of these tattered lines
About these tattered lines
Of these tattered lines
